Ideas for a mobile food establishment
1. A food kiosk
Food kiosks are temporary cabins or stands used to prepare and sell food like pretzels, ice cream and hot dogs. However, the facility and flexibility offered by this modality is the reason why it is so popular.
2. Food carts
Most carts prepare food in advance or buy ready-made products to sell then heat them or take them out of the freezer. The original carts were focused on foods such as hot dogs, fruit, esquites and ice cream, but today have expanded to others such as kebabs, tacos and hamburgers.
3. Food trucks
Bigger than carts, trucks can carry more food and do more work but also need more parking space.
A truck can load more advanced equipment for storage, serving, cooking and food preparation.
4. Gourmet food trucks
Basically the same as food trucks, they serve high quality food. They are directed by ambitious chefs whose food is not normally served on a mobile basis. Most gourmet trucks have specialties and let their customers know where they will be.
5. Mobile Catering Businesses
Mobile catering trucks are similar to food trucks, but these are contracted for specific events, then customer chooses the food from the catering menu, and the truck serves it at the event.
6. Restaurants in buses
Generally they are buses of two floors where the kitchen is located in the inferior one, and the commensals in the superior one. This concept is new and has not been well tested, because require a large parking space and a higher initial cost to accommodate the bus.
